Humber River Trails

The Toronto Carrying-Place Trail, also known as the Humber Portage, was an important Indigenous trade and travel route connecting Lake Ontario to Lake Simcoe and the northern Great Lakes.

Part of the trail follows the Humber River through Woodbridge and Kleinburg before continuing north across the Oak Ridges Moraine toward Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay. The route played an important role for Indigenous communities and early traders travelling throughout the region.

Today, the Humber River trail system continues to offer opportunities to explore the natural landscape surrounding Kleinburg.
