Vaughan’s First Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station is Coming to Kleinburg

The City of Vaughan has secured funding from The Atmospheric Fund to install a level-two electric vehicle (EV) charging station at the Pierre Berton Heritage Centre (located at 10418 Islington Ave.) in Kleinburg. Construction has begun and will be complete by the end of 2022. This will be the city’s first public EV charging station and will serve as a pilot for a larger EV charging infrastructure program in the future.

The EV charging station will have two parking spots dedicated to charging two vehicles at once. Although parking at the Pierre Berton Heritage Centre is free, the use of the EV charging station will have a fee once the new policy is approved by Council.
